Brief

To Design a collection of patterns that can be used across multiple products, either to promote yourself, a product, designer or artist.

Outcome

​

I designed two variations of this pattern and drew inspiration from various cultures and time periods including traditional Japanese print, Buddhist religion and Victorian high society. The result is a peaceful but striking pattern, representing

balance, calmness and fresh beginnings. I wanted the design to have fluidity, but I also wanted the koi and lotus design to sit slightly apart from the background, creating a layered feel.
